    When taking all radiographs including digital be sure and use a cotton roll on the opposite arch, biting surface. This will help stabilize the device, open all contacts and assure that all root tips are caught on the radiograph.

    Radiology: Oral pick.... place in contacts between posterior teeth...Guarantee to open any posterior contact. Place the PID in line with the Oral Pick...direction

    Dental Assistants have many hats to wear in the course of a day's work.
    Take some time to protect yourself and the office in which you work every day.

    You will be able to see members of the Board, Staff and Members of special OBD committees. Take a look at the rosters and if you have a thought or recognize a name feel free to contact that person with questions or any thoughts you might have. The main reason for your search is to find spore testing, who, where and when...and how long to save the results, (did you know that is the law?) you will/could save the dental practice a lot of money if for some reason you're asked where your records are...

    The site is most interesting and you could take a few minutes during your working day and share the information with others...make a book to keep the results of spore testing so you know right where it is when needed....Good Luck.....

    Easy fix:  How do you know if your ultrasonic cleaning unit in the office is still working properly?  

    Does the office buy one and expect it to work perfectly for 10-15 years?  How does one find out if it is still working?  Just because the solution is moving a little does not mean it is functioning to full capacity. Here is a very simple tip to find out if the ultrasonic is still at optimum efficiency. 

    After thoroughly cleaning and rinsing, fill the unit with water.  Take a 6" by 6" piece of aluminum foil and place in the ultrasonic unit.  Place the lid and set the timer for 5 minutes.  When the cycle is finished remove the foil and look at it.  The foil should be very pitted from the ultrasonic waves.  If not, it is time to replace the unit.

    Did you know... Your EFDA and/or EFODA certificates and Radiological Proficiency Certificate needs to by displayed....
    Do what is required and if you are not sure what that is we encourage you to do some research so you will be compliant with all rules and regulations.
