Helpful Hint of the Month - November
There are many important things dental assistants must know to excel at their careers.
Here are three professional development tips to help you stand out as a leader in your field:
-
One of the most valuable traits a dental assistant can have is flexibility. Being flexible will help the team environment, setting the tone for your practice.
-
The second trait that is important for a dental assistant to have is self-motivation. Self- motivated people notice what needs to be done, doing it without being asked.
-
The third trait that a dental assistant needs is having initiative. Meaning that you have initiative to complete a task without constant supervision.
Of course it takes a good attitude to gain these traits and to model them. An excellent book for other tips for lessons in leadership is “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, by Stephen R. Covey.
